2. Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is a beautiful town located on the Pacific coast, about an hour and a half from San Jose. It’s known for its excellent surfing and hiking opportunities, but it’s also becoming a popular digital nomad destination because of its proximity to so many amazing beaches.
If you want to work remotely while in Manuel Antonio, there are plenty of places where you can get some peace and quiet while still being able to connect with others when needed:
The beach – This is probably the most obvious choice! You’ll have access to Wi-Fi at any number of cafes along Playa Espadilla or Playa Escondido as well as at some hotels in town (like Hotel Los Jardines). If getting away from technology altogether sounds better than working sitting next to other people with their laptops open, try taking advantage of one of the public parks along Playa Manuel Antonio or walking down one of the quieter roads behind them (like Calle Principal). If you go this route though be aware that there may be some noise from traffic or construction projects around town since it seems like there’s always something being built here!
1. Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a small beach town in Costa Rica that’s known for its surfing and laid-back vibe. It’s also home to a small population of expats and digital nomads, who have come here to work remotely and enjoy life on the coast.
The best place to work from in Santa Teresa is Cafe del Mar (the one on the main strip). It has great Wi-Fi, fast computers, good coffee (and other drinks), plus plenty of seating options if you want some privacy. You can also rent them out for private meetings or workshops–they’re very accommodating!
If you’re looking for comfortable accommodation within walking distance of cafes like this one–and maybe even further away–I recommend staying at Casa Chameleons Surf Camp Hostel & Yoga Retreat Center . The rooms are spacious enough so that even though there aren’t any walls between them (you’ll share bathrooms with other guests), it still feels private enough because each unit has its own entrance into an outdoor patio area where there are hammocks hanging from trees above your head as well as chairs set up around tables made out of logs placed atop concrete blocks…
3. Nosara
Nosara is a small town located on the Nicoya Peninsula, which makes it an ideal location for digital nomads who are looking to live and work in one place. It’s also a popular surfing destination and has a small local expat community that can help you get settled in.
There are many beachfront properties for rent in Nosara, so if you want to live there as well as work from home then this could be your ideal spot.

4. Tamarindo
Tamarindo is a beach town in Guanacaste that’s popular with tourists and expats. It’s also known for its surfing, but it’s not just for thrill seekers: Tamarindo is an excellent place to work remotely. The internet there is fast and reliable, so you can count on having no problems with video calls or streaming music from Spotify (which we recommend).
There are plenty of coworking spaces in Tamarindo where you can rent desk space by the hour or day if you need it–they’ll even give you free coffee!
